The CNU and Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company (DPZ) would like to extend to you a personal invitation for the workshop DPZ is hosting on June 10, 9AM-5PM, as part of CNU 17 in Denver, CO:
This is a free workshop for CNU 17 attendees registered for the full conference. However this does require a separate reservation and seats are limited, so early registration is recommended. Please note if you are already registered for CNU you will still need to register for this workshop separately. To register email monica@dpz.com.
This workshop is designed to bring together leading practitioners in the fields of planning, architecture and development from around the world. The format of the workshop will provide participants an opportunity to share innovative ideas and seed a larger campaign for moving forward a viable development agenda for the 21st century. Now is a critical time to take advantage of our economic slowdown and lay the groundwork to structure the kinds of places where we all want to live and work.
Topics include: Preparing for the 21st Century, Lifelong Communities, Secure Settlements, Sprawl Repair, Light Imprint, Cooperative Settlements, Plain Houses, Small Schools, Complete Campuses, Scenario Planning, Smart Codes and Green Marketing.
Andres Duany will kick off the workshop, which will feature a talented and engaging line-up of speakers including Galina Tahchieva, Tom Low, Marina Khoury, Senen Antonio, Matt Lambert and Xavier Iglesias who will also take part in the interactive group discussions scheduled for the end of the day. Multiple technology platforms will be used as a way to capture ideas, maintain connections and help move forward initiatives identified by participants. A final Closing Keynote by Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk followed by a panel discussion will wrap up the day's events.
We will send further details with a recommended reading list and other suggestions for pre-workshop preparation.
This will be a remarkable event considering the speaker line up and content. Again, this is a free workshop with limited seating, so register early! Register here or call 704-948-8141!
